Solstice

description

'Solstice' is a light installation that completely changes its appearance within a 4 minute cycle through a barely perceivable change of lighting. A solid golden cylindrical shape turns into a hollow blue space: form and emptiness are congruent aspects of the very same phenomenon.

The golden column spans the entire height of the space, it is is made of golden and silver rescue sheet and gently inflated with a blower. The change of lighting is so subtle and slow that visitors have to be patient, spend time inside the dark space, watch and engage in the change.
