A kinetic installation at Kunstverein Heidenheim, Germany, 1995

Description

25 Aluminium trapeziums were each perched on a metal base structure in an ancient keep of the town wall of Heidenheim, Germany - all together forming one large trapezium on the floor. Each Aluminium trapezium was precisely balanced so they would gently hover in their equilibrium. A fan producing a slight draft in the space caused the whole installation to move like the waves of the sea. The airy motion of the gently swinging aluminium contrasts the medieval stone architecture of the space.
